Well had a quiet couple of weeks due to the boring high pressure giving us that awful blue skies and sunshine combine that with a wee ski holiday and the paddling gear hadn't come out for a while. tims_pictures_315-1

Then a good omen appeared when Joe from WCK rang, "Your new blades are here" brilliant news. Along with a wet Monday this week things were looking good. Josh and I had a quick night blast down the Leven, the new blades felt good all we needed was more rain.Rain all day Friday made the Lune fantastic to look at on the way home. Dan and Glyn where on the phone straight away to see what the score was. We decided to meet up at the Clough have a nice pie and help Dan face his demons! Sadly the water had gone so we drove to Ingleton to try our luck  there.

I have looked at this serious beck several times, but never had the right water. Saturday was different, the level was perfect Glyn and I ran everything we could down to Kiwi pot, Dan and Glyn set up some safety for me. Off I went not a drop you would want to get wrong, whatever the level. Fortunately the river gods were on my side! Dan went to watch us through the gorge from the bridge. Two drops in a tight confined gorge very intimidating with no safety. I came out the bottom relieved and on a high. Glyn decided to try some old skool rodeo in the bottom of drop two, and to see how good Dans rope skills were. We got him out, his boat ran the rest on its own! So I got out and helped the lads with the boat. Enough fun for one day so we left the section from leap of faith down for another day and went for a beer.

Sunday everything had dropped off so the lower Kent beckoned for a training run with two likely lads from Sedbergh. Adam had never done the run before and put in a sterling effort, learning fast as we went down, and kept Fraser and I on our toes with rescuing! TOP MARKS for enthusiasm.Sadly got to work on Monday, some ones got to do it!Until next time, cheers.
