Rivers are low now, with only a lttle residual runoff in the bigger stuff. No rain is forecast (apart from light showers way up north).
Surf is not looking good but the tides are pretty high, so the races may be working.
The Tryweryn is open and Teeside is running 11-5 ish. I believe that the washburn is going as well. The link ive used has gone, and I'm rushing now.
Looks like a dry weekend for me...I want my new bike to arrive! Enjoy.

It's the Wet West Paddle Fest this weekend so heading up to the Garry and Moriston are the best bets for water. Levels here are low but the lake fed rivers are still on respectable flows. There is rain forecast for the east odf county Durham and Northumberland overnight, and some scattered showers on Saturday in Scotland.
Some prospects for decent surf as well (2 stars on Magic Seaweed for Saltburn) on both days of the weekend. Tides are low.
Teeside is on split times Saturday and a short morning session on Sunday. The Tryweryn is open from the Chipper down.
The bio of worthy legend Andy Jackson 'Tall Stories' (he was really tall) is available as a pre order now. Orders this weekend will generate a generous cut to the charity in his name aimed at promoting access, and a Kenyan Development charity.

Were really pleased to have Newton Rigg Paddling Club blogging on the site. They have been very active for the last few years (see their video clips called 'the Search for Water' right up to the end!). They have plenty of ambition to keep on boating, so it will be interesting to see what they have been up to and get their take on things.
Its been a busy weekend of boating, and its been great to see so many folk out and about. As ever if anyone wants to contribute, either as a one off or as a blog, then your really welcome. |

Its looking good for some boating. There is a large, heavy band of rain currently over Wales and teh midlands and its moving North. It will be falling on pretty wet ground, with the main rivers already boatable, after a spate on Wednesday. Its due to break up a bit by Saturday morning but heavy and long showers will still be around, but these will fadie out over the weekend. Looks like tonight and tomorrow morning will see the highest levels. There is less forecast for North of the border (though it needs less), and Wales is looking wet now.
Surf forecast is also looking good. Magic seaweed is expecting 2 star 10ft surf on the NE coast. Tides are medium and falling.
Teeside is open in the afternoons, and the Tryweryn from the Chipper down.
Just FYI it is expected that the fish will start to run as the spate subsides, which makes it prime fishing time on the relevant river sections.
Enjoy! |
