You will probably know already, but Wet West Padlle Fest (13th/14th Sep) and the Etive River Race (4th Oct) are coming up soon.
If you havent been up to the WWPF before then its good humour. Guaranteed boating and plenty of informal kayak banter (and beer). Best of all, the echo of the Andy Jackson is in their somewhere. I read that there is a biography of him due to published. I hope its good, because he has real claim to be become an icon. |

The rivers are flowing a bit here and the bigger stuff is boatable. Be aware that we are entering prime fishing season though. the smaller stuff (with no fish) may come up afetr a dose of rain on Saturday night, which is coming from the West across the whole of the UK. Wheresthe Water is showing patches of water in Scotland already so best going North if you can.
Tides are pretty high but dropping over the weekend, so the races may work. There is little surf to speak of.
The Tryweryn is open for the weekend, Teeside is open in the afternoons.
have a good one... |

Firstly a shout for the new look "wheres the water?" site. Nice one. Hopefully we can get that data for this area at some point. It is showing low levels but there is rain coming. We have low but moving levels and heavy rain forecast for Saturday so stuff may go later today (sat) or Sunday. South Wales also has had two doses of heavy rainfall now so i guess the rivers are going there.
There is some surf around but far from classic. Tides are low.
Teeside is running in the afternoon at the weekend before going n to split times next week. The Tyrweryn is open (and free!) the Washburn is not running untill wednesday evening, |
