Our RSS feeds are back up here. You can read them in firefox or newer versions of Internet explorer, or use a feed reader. Vista toolbar should be able to use them and obviously they can be picked up by other websites.

ok_small.jpgI may have linked to this before but I have been watching it again! This clip from Oregon Kayaking video library called "3 weeks in BC -4" features a first descent of a gnarly gorge on the Bridge river in BC. What has impressed me with this is the interesting audio at the start and the full gnarl of the water. A stout entry move into an horrible looking rapid, in which he gets trashed is impressive enough! However the fact that he runs it the next day, obviously unsatisfied with his mistake on the line shows the kind of determination needed to reach that level of boating. Maybe shows us all something about how to improve. That series of falls is also fully committed to a very wet series of moves that you would not want to mess up!

We have a bit of a techy issue at the mo, uploading pictures, which is slowing us down with the blogs but should be sorted very soon.

Hope you managed to get out on that rare summer spate we just had Laughing.

Just a quick note to thank to those who contributed water level info over the weekend. It s good to know what folk are up to and the info might just seriously brighten up somebody else's day. For me this system (and the cams) remain at the heart of the site, and we hope to develop water level info where we can. Another reminder that the river levels info is available via WAP for browsing and submitting info over your phone.

In't paddling brilliant !!!

broken edSeeing as were in a drought here a thought Id cheer myself up with the thought that kayak porn is not all glamour. Check out Ed cornfield fluffing a drop in telemark and receiving the consequences... - good on him for sharing it, hopefully his next appearnce on youtube will be soon, and more glamourous :-). Jack is most chuffed as they ran this drop recently and got a better boof :-)

extreme nation trailer

This clip has some pretty tasty action in the generic american style. I watched the first video sequence a few times! Fully commited to the 'its flushing' theory of big water boating.

Any registered user can add their own choice of other peoples video to put on the site. Go to the videos page - click 'add video', copy the url address of the youtube (or similar) page, then put it in the appropriate 'category' and 'save'. It will bring you out back at the 'add video' page but the item will then be there. Only rules are - no real porn and you gotta make a comment.

This news from wilf. The EA will be working on the brick chute from Monday. We are told that this will make the weir impassable, it is not known how long the work will take. Also the occupants of the house to the river left of the big weir request that people do not linger or make noise in their garden. With those conditions, they are happy for folk to use the established path for portages.

Oregon kayaking have an account of Big Kimshew Creek. Porn connoisseurs will recognise many of the drops, but its good to see it as a river description.

Here is a clip of some stout action in BC at a classic "BC 4". Just to spice it up they are paddling canadians!

the teva tour has been reborn. Corporate funding for some folk to go holiday for a month, get some footage and stick it up on tinterweb. Oh sorry - i didnt see - it explains on the front page that "Fifteen international pro kayakers travel through seven European countries, braving the elements. The goal? To portray the extreme sport of kayaking and the lifestyle that goes with it" - how naive of me ;-).
