We are aware that the kent and greta cams are down at present. We are working to sort this out. Kent cam should kick back into action as soon as Shorty is reconnected to the tinterweb (he is currently going cold turkey!). Greta cam is bit of a longer term issue and is not in our control. There is still hope that we can use the same site but only time will tell.
The river levels page has been ticking over nicely. A big shout to those contributing. It gets used to. That page is the most frequently visited on the site. Just out of interest we are turning over around 3000+ unique visitors a month. We are hopeful we will be able to get more useful river info out there shortly. As ever if you have ideas, enthusiasm or time then give us a shout. We could do with more input and help on the site to develop it further. Current vacancies include - porn watch corespondent, guest bloggers, techy brains, graphic design :-) the pay is non existent but the sense of well being and the increased sex appeal are awesome ;-) !

The rivers are low above the lakes and high below. The only significant rain forcast is up in the North West of Scotland where a band will move through later and again on Sunday. Only light and very scattered showers will be around elsewhere, so only the bigger rivers will offer any sport. Again just FYI the fisherfolk will be thinking the same thing this weekend.
Tides are high, not enough for Arnside to work but the other races will be going. The surf forecast is not great for the weekend but some good stuff is due next week.
Teeside is open 10 - 4 ish with around 1m tides. The Tyrweryn is closed on Sat but im not sure about Sunday.

Porn Watch returns with an X rated show. The Stikine Special, avert your eyes now if your you fancy yourself as boater and are happy in your self delusion...
Its been a busy season up there as water levels came in late on. Evan Garcia's account is well worth a read, in his own down to earth style, and features many photo angles I'd not seen before. I love the shot and comment on the line of 'Wall' 1 and 2 'It flushes down the middle - oh great!
 Also Hucking Huge have an account of Corey Boux going for his second descent into its big dirty holes. They went for it in two days (usually done in three)
If you really want to get sucked in to its charms, then watch the fly over from a helicopter up the full length of the run. Part 1 here and Part 2 here. Then you can suffer as I do! There is definately a line down there, it looks easy from the chopper - but there is a lot of must run stuff, its cold, your committed, and the bears and wolves can get you on the banks! Till then, I'm a wannabe :-) |

The rivers are low across the board. There is a band of rain due in the far North West of Scotland moving South West and breaking up quickly. Some potential up there but the rest of the country is basically dry or light scattered showers.
Tides are medium nad the prospects for worthwhile surf are poor.
Teeside is open split times on Saturday and a short morning session on Sunday. The Tryweryn is open.
Not a classic forecast for boating then, unless of course you live in Ullapool. |
