Our kayak carrier system was designed because we wanted a product that worked. We wanted to get to the put in of a hike in feeling like you could go boating, instead of needing a massage to uncurl your spine and shoulders! We found the existing products on the market unsatisfactory, so set off on this;

The system is produced by hand in the UK by Aiguille Alpine who have extensive experience producing high quality rucksacks and climbing equipment. After a long design gestation and has been proven to work in anger and it lasts. The only design considerations were functionality and durability.

It carries the boat in an upright position, with cockpit forwards as this gets the load in a better position. The hip, shoulder and boat load postions are adjustable whilst wearing the system. It uses the sturdy external grab handles on any creek boat as anchor points and has an intergral paddle park. This leaves both hands free, however, as stabalising the boat is important there are additional hand loops on the upper strap. When not in use the system packs down small. It weighs a mere   and uses no absorbant materials. It will fit any modern creek boat.

It will be made to order in low volume batches, so please contact us if you wish to purchase one. They will only be available via this method. We will be able to get them out at £40 plus any p+p cost. Most of this goes to the manufacturer but we will retain some to develop rainchasers and cover our costs .

The following video demonstrates its use;

Obviously it does not make the boat any lighter, and it does not include either legs or lungs. Also let it be noted that strapping a kayak to your back and falling over on steep ground is potential a really bad thing to do. It does though make it feel pretty much like wearing a big rucksack and is big advantage on a walk in.
