KMFF Paddle Night

Last night was paddle night for the film festival and from what I saw it was very successful with a good turn out, the rainchasers clips were up first and I was a bit disapointed with the exposure alot of the water getting blown out which is a shame as it plays fine on the DVD and PC, still we got some very good feedback and next year intend to have something with a bit more content up there.

The rest of the night saw a mixture of sea kayaking and whitewater action which was a nice mix.

Whilst on the theme of film nights, there is going to be a social & film night on the 25th November the venue will be at Shap village hall in Cumbria. 8 till late. 6 quid at the door. BYO booze but we'll get some in to buy if you run out!

Steve Rogers of Bread and Butter will be popping over from Vancouver and will be showing off his latest film, and there are a couple of other new titles on their way as well (including the world premiere of Sick Line 4). We will be showing a bit of the rainchasers stuff in all their uncompressed glory and there will be film of the falls of Clyde first descent. There will also be music, and no doubt the usual sight of bad dress sense and dancing that these events produce.

hope to see you there

Rainchasers on the big screen
Written by Shorty

Well after we thought we had missed the deadline, we will be showing the popular Ingleton Falls footage at the Kendal Mountain Film Festival paddlers night after all .  The organisers thought that it would be very appropriate to see local paddlers and rivers up on the screen. The running order is yet to be decided but I will post as soon as I know what time it is being screened.

Friday Forecast - 10th Nov
Written by ned
Friday, 10 November 2006 05:01

Two bands of rain are moving our way from the North West. Its raining in the West of Scotland from the border to the Far North, with really heavy rain from Fort William north. Another band will follow tomorow. Sepa is reading low levels today but they will be shooting up as the ground is obviously wet. England and Wales will get rain, which will be heavier in the west, but Scotland is the place to be. Levels are low here (lakes) at present so it may bring things up to modest levels if forecast correct!

Tides are low and surf forecast is for small atlantic swell, increasing over the weekend, not much on the East coast.

Creek boats to Scotland anyone? I got up to the far north a couple weeks back now (no pictures, sorry) and it was great - loads of stuff to go at and a beautiful place, lots of walk ins and found one burn that was really good value (details sent to UKRGB). Send us some pictures - im stuck here with a cracked rib - land based sports are dangerous!

Enjoy.
