Friday forecast 24th Nov

Its looking good for getting out in a boat.

Rivers are up, Surfs good and the tides are medium height springs.

The forecst is for more rain over the weekend. Its a scattered picture and there are gales forecast so the details are sketchy but as usual Scotland's westy coast looks likely to get more than its fair share. The rest of the country will get plenty of water but it will be patchy.

Currently river levels are high accross scotland (SEPA). South of the border stuff is still flowing in the lakes but the quick runoff stuff gcould do with a top up (Kent low/ok Greta low/scrape) but the Floodgates on the Leven were still open as of this morning and I guess they will be open over the weekend (Its a manual job to close them that doesnt seem to get done on a Sat or Sun!). The Leven will be good for the weekend for sure, and its raining here now. So if you making the film fest at Shap on saturday night ther should be sport for creek and play boats.

Surf reports for Atlantic coasts are good and incereasing but its going to be onshore winds and wild!

enjoy

Friday Forecast - 17th Nov

Well its kinda wet but a really unsettled picture for the weekend. Its raining in wales the lakes, Scotland (South of great Glen) and the south west at present. The heaviest stuff is south of Glasgow but creeping north. However the forecast thinks that the wettest spots will be Wales and the Lakes over the weekend. Showers on Saturday but persistant light rain Sunday. To be honest the forecasts are all over the place, but the should be water around everywhere but probably not really high levels.

The Kent, Leven and Greta are all at medium levels now. Scottish levels are patchy but there is stuff that is up and the smaller stuff is rising.

Tides are low but there is surf. Forecast to be quite messy on east and west coasts but Ireland has 5ft clean predicted over the weekend

A reminder about the film fest film/piss up next Saturday and the discount voucher from windermere canoe and kayak as they are disappearing down the page!

Im still out with  bad rib so dont anybody have any fun cos I cant and its not fair.

Just to clarify, the camping is at Green Farm at the South end of Shap on the West side of the road opposite the Greyhound pub. Its a caravan club site but there expecting us. Pitch your tents/vans on the Saturday early evening and wander up the road to the vilage hall.

Camping fees (£2.50/head) will be payable to the campsite on leaving.
