At the heart of kayaking is the journey and exploring, here are three links that reminded me of that;
In BC a team dropped into another of those gorgeous looking, commiting steep creeks. As it suggests its all about putting the effort in to acheive those runs.
This guy has different take on river transport but the spirit is the same and style is great. 'Packrafting' looks good !!
Steve Rogers (aka Sickboy) has completed one BC's biggest trips, the Homathko. Its normally run in the Autumn, so to squeeze through in the spring with plenty of snow around (that could send flows mental) is very keen! If the river does spike you are very, very stuck out there! Just to get your head round what a trip like this involves check out the 'beta'. Fancy it? |

The list of stations to be included within the EA's online system has been made available and a copy is here. The coverage is extensive. This is a provisional list and is subject to change.
There is now a task to be performed within the paddling community of prioritising and calibrating this data. |

The drought continues ....
... but there is good surf in the North East and if you fancy coming to try SUP (which I recommend!) then there will be boards to try and I will be trying to advise at Brockhole on Sunday (see below). |

WCK are holding the 2nd Summer Solstice Lake race on 19th July. The longest day, longest lake and longest day event is now established on the calender. It had a fun feel last year but there was the elemnet of competition up at the front in last years race!
The following day will be a demo day, with various boats, SUP's and other entertainment/activities offered at Brockhole. |
