The camera for the kent cam has broken. We need to buy a new one, so until further notice its down. See Shorty's contributions on the river level sections for regular updates.

Its been wet so stuff is flowing and modest flows now. lake fed stuff is high. There is snow lying around now but temperatures are up and a blast of rain is coming this evening. Levels should shoot up and expects some water tomorrow at least.
Surf forecast looks ok. Two starts for Redcar/saltburn tomorrow and Atlantic Swell is big. Ive taken the feed from magic seaweed on the 'what's up?' and 'Surf' pages for more details.
Tides are low.

Sad news of a fatality on the Crake at Bobbin Mill rapid on New years eve. See here for details.
Condolences to 'rock rat robinson', family and friends. Also thanks for sharing the story so we all may learn from it.

Kent cam is showing old images at the moment so dont trust it. Shorty is working on the problem. Check the river level page for kent info as he usually updates each morning. Leven cam still working and the river is very high. Calibration should be completed in the next up/down cycle of the river.
Jacks blog is updated with of his some recent trips, including the excellent Upper Rawthey.

Hope your all having a good Christams and enjoying the water (if you can get a pass out from the kids,partners, Aunt Ednas party).
THis week should be a good we to get calibration photos for the Leven . Neds away for a few days and I wont be passing today, but if anyone is around the Leven and have a camera if you can grab a few shots of interest of the bridge, brick chute etc.. and let me know when it was taken I can try to match it to the webcam.
The cam has been moved down a bit, there is a big yacht dolly in the water that we are told wont be moving and gives a good indicator of the water level on the bank of Windereme, looking at it this morning the dolly is covered so I am expecting the Leven to be high.
