The rivers are dropping after being high midweek. The bigger stuff should still be flowing. Only scattered showers are forecast for the weekend, so the best of it will be on Saturday.
Tides are low. The surf forecast is marginal (1 star for saturday in the North East) but better in the western spots.
Check out Dave Burne's account of 'Losing his Cherry' in California. They have gone and done some of the Californian granite bedrock classics and done a guest blog with awesome photos. As ever if anyone wants to do a guest blog entry, please just get in touch, be it trips, photos, wisdom or rants!
Triberiders have some good Vietnam waterfall/culture photos here . If your interested in the freestyle worlds you can pick up all the blogs and twitters from here, courtesy of playak. |

A nice set here from some established favourites of ours;
Dave Biggen and friends have been running the Scottish gnar again during this wet summer and have thrown up these discarded shots from his upcoming film. Looking forward to seeing what has made the cut!
The highly reputable Squamish Canoe Club have been busy golfing (and doing some paddling). Also in North America the Range Life have been doing their thing

The National Assembly for Wales has reached consultaton phase "to examine the current position for access to inland water in Wales and to make recommendations". This is a golden opportunity for Wales to follow in the enlightened footsteps of Scotland. Please take a few minutes to send a reasoned reply. Sure its unlikely to come off. Sure your voice probably wont make a difference. However if everyone ducks it in favour of surfing for kayak porn, then things definately won't change for the better.
If England becomes the only place in the world where river access is so screwed up, it will, in the longer term, create more pressure for things to change here.

The bigger rivers here are still moving after a wet spell midweek. The forecast is for a dry day on saturday and then some rain coming in on sunday. This may bring the smaller stuff up later on on Sunday. So it looks like you may find some sport of you scratch around a bit.
Tides are very high so all the races will be doing their thing. Surf forecast is poor for the NE coast.
The Wet West Paddle Fest is getting closer. Sat/Sun 19th/20th September |
