The Leven, and pretty much all the lake fed stuff is as big as anyone has seen it. Major structural damage is being done! The rivers are to be approached with extreme care. Check out Backbarrow 'bridge' today!
Just in case you needed telling - "Danger - no bathing"
There is a load of debris around and the water quality will be awful.

That is impressive. That bridge and many other bridges in the Lakes are gonna need repairing. You get out on the Esk then today???

Nice piccies - beat me to it! I was there myself today, on the other side dodging shouting firemen to take some downstream. Not sure about your comment about the hotel though.They could do with a break after what's happened today were VERY helpful to people who had lost their homes and livelihoods. I also know the manager of the place who spent ALL night helping others.
