Ok first up a video trip report from venezuela. A different location from the usual hangouts and shows us all we can find different stuff to do. The total antithesis to this nicely shot crap that populates much of the internet's kayaking content. I guess youve got to make cultural allowances for self hype, but has it really come to this! On a more serious note, I also stumbled into this whilst trying various search words into You Tube. Its the footage of a tragic fatality a few years ago. Doug Gordon was paddling the Tsang Po (tibet) when this happened. I agonised for a while before linking to this (the title graphic is tasteless, but i couldnt find it an another form), but in the end decided that its always good to be reminded about possible consequences of our actions. All kayaking is an extreme sport (even the lune), for me I want to embrace this, accept it, and stare it in the face. Its a headspinner, but thats the point. If you dont want to see what happened, dont click. The full account of this trip is in this book. Here is a news report from the time.
